Operation Write Home Stash Challenge

Have you been by Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps to enter into the Midweek Throwdown challenge yet?!  The challenge is to simply use patterned paper on your card and here's one of mine!

For my first card I used my Ellie digital image from In Style Stamps.  She's a new release and will be available to purchase August 20th at their store.  I paired Ellie with Basic Grey Ambrosia paper, I only have a few scraps left.  Speaking of scraps I wanted to see if I could use some of them up on my cards, it was a fun challenge for me!

Ellie is colored with Copic markers, the giant ric rac is a die from Papertrey Ink and the "miss you" sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.

My next card is from scrap using Basic Grey Urban Prairie, do you recognize the front of the paper pad?  I cut the front off the paper pad and used two panels put together on the front of my card, it's heavy!  The brown and turquoise papers were scraps sitting by my cutter.  Again I used the Papertrey Ink giant ric rac die and a new flower die of theirs and the Sizzix large dots embossing folder.

  2. Love these cards! I am partial to stripes alongside texture and to use patterned papers as the stripes really looks good. Great idea to use the cover of the paper pad, too. I'm going to check mine out.

  4. Jan, Two great cards and the Ellie image is a must have! I am bummed I have to wait until the 20th though, but I think I will live - maybe. I also really like the way you turned the scalloped DP one direction on the right hand side of the card and another direction on the left hand side. It would never occur to me to do that and I love it! Thanks for the tip. Blessings, Louise
