I have a cute card and a fun story to share with you today.
First things first, my card... I used Doodle Pantry's Garden Hose Ants in the pre-colored version, sized and printed it to fit the card layout I wanted to use (I love that about digital stamps!) and got busy. The layout is a sketch I've used before and really liked and could picture in my mind the finished card, I love it when that happens too.
The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Black, Mohawk Bright White, Sorbet Lemon, Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue. For the dots on the Brilliant Blue I used a stamp from Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is cut out using Spellbinders Mega Ovals and Scalloped Mega Ovals dies.
My card is for our newest Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, the challenge theme is "water".
And now for the funny story-
Last Saturday my husband was watering the grass in our yard and had to leave for a few minutes. Maxine our dog was outside and I was inside at my desk when I heard a strange sound. I got up to look out the window and discovered the hose and sprinkler at the front door spraying the front window and door. I also realized that for me to do something about this I was going to get really wet!
So I opened the front door and ran out to pick up the sprinkler and hose to put it back in the grass. Luckily it was around 105 outside so I dried pretty fast.
Maxine thought I'd come out to play too...
I did go back in the house for my camera
and then she picked up the hose again and ran toward me!
But stopped to play with the sprinkler a little more
and then ran toward me again as I ran away trying to keep my camera dry! lol
It's really too bad we didn't get this all on video, but I still laugh looking at the pictures and remembering. I suppose that's entertainment in a small town in Arizona!
I hope you enjoyed my story, Doodle Pantry card and will play along in our "water" themed challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps this week!

LOL! Great story to go with the fun and cute card Jan! Maxine looks like she was having a good time...I'd probably just have to play in the sprinkler with her in 105 temps too!

Love Maxine to pieces! She's into my kind of entertainment. :-) Great card, Jan. Funny thing is, I considered using this image for my "water" card before Kathryn drew that incredible seagull image for me! Love the yellow and blue background you chose. Hugz
ReplyDeleteJan, Love that card. What a great image. I love the layout you used also. I love, love, love your pictures and story about Maxine. Don't our 4 legged childred bring so many smiles to our faces? Can't beat it. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteSo Much fun!!!
Abbys used to love playing in the sprinklers too!!
i wonder if she's too old and "dignified"(ha) to do this now?

Thanks for sharing your joyous SPRING-kler celebration in the middle of our Hot & dry days.
Love the ant card...but not so much the ants in our yard.

Maxine wanted her Mommy to cool down and play with her!! My boys both did things like that when they were little and I was always a challenge to see if I could get the house away from them....before they drenched me or if I could get the the water shutoff first!! They would laugh and laugh and thought it was so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI guess in hindsight it was, because the memories do make me smile! :)
love your 'buggy' card and your 'doggy' story
