I've noticed when I've been out and about visiting blogs that there are a lot of New Year's Resolutions.
Some of them are really inspiring and I'm tempted to try them out but I haven't publicly or privately made any New Year's Resolutions because I don't usually stick with them.
I have been inspired by some of the stamping/crafting bloggers to clean out my stuff and thought I should take it one step at a time.
I have this drawer in my craft room (ah, kitchen) that is starting to be hard to open because there is so much scrap paper, digital papers & die cut embellishments I printed and cut a few years ago hiding in there.
The other day I decided to attempt to get some of that paper out of there and use it to make cards. The New Year's Day blog post on the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog had lots of wonderful inspiration.
One of the OWH technique tutorials for 2011 was Triple Time Stamping which I loved.
I just took it in a slightly different direction using patterned papers and a Verve stamp from their Wonderfully Made clear set. My drawer is a little lighter now and I have a dozen cards completed, backs stamped and tucked into envelopes for my Operation Write Home box.
My next "un resolution" needs to be addressing a large stack of rubber stamps (mostly Stampin' Up!) under the kitchen table.
I have a new toy that's going to need somewhere to live and as they say,
"out with the old and in with the new?" I might just have some stamps for sale soon!

Jan, I, like you, don't stick to my resolutions. I love the idea of using patterned paper for the triple time effect. I just read a word this morning that I liked and I'm going to use it here. Your idea is "steal-able". I'm not sure which phrase is better, Cased or Steal-able. Either way I'm going to do it. LOL Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteJan, I love this idea to alter the Triple Stamping technique and just use patterned paper - I will definitely have to give this a try as it looks like a FABULOUS way to use up paper that's been sitting around for a looooooong time (decades in my case!). Thanks for the inspiration!

So many of us have soooooooo much patterned paper it's a shame for it to go to waste when we could be making beautiful cards from it.

Great idea Jan! I have tons of paper I could get rid of this way - lol. And I think I need to order that stamp set, that's my life verse :)

I know Lisa, the New Year's Resolutions - I think I'm afraid of failure or accountability or change, lol. There's enough to keep up with just every day ordinary life.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great variation on the Triple Time Stamping and while I don't have a huge stash I know I have some papers stored away that I've struggle to co-ordinate into cards so I've just ignored using them. This is a perfect solution since it doesn't require coordinating much more than a solid paper and ink. Thanks for sharing these Jan!

ReplyDeleteA marvelous idea and great tutorial. I started at my craft desk and 4 hours later I'm still there but I know I'm getting something done. It will probably take a good fool month...thats ok...when I take breaks I get inspired by others like you.
