The Stamping Boutique Poppies

My card is for our challenge that starts today at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps. It's the Midweek Throwdown challenge and the theme is Tags n' Twine.  For a little extra added fun you can add "miss you" to the theme too!  The "miss you" part of the theme was added after I had my card ready so it's a birthday card but I did look through some of my previously made cards and I'll add a couple "miss you" themed at the end of my post just for fun.

My flowers came from The Stamping Boutique, I made my card using their Poppies and colored with Copic markers:  R32, R35, R46, R59, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y15, Y18.

The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Leaf Green, Thepapermill.com Cranberry, Astrobrights Solar Yellow & Neenah Solar White.  My layout is Operation Write Home Sketch #82 and I added a Spellbinders tag stamped with Papertrey Ink "happy birthday" and a button and my kinda twine for a finishing touch.
My kinda twine is just white crochet thread from a big box store.

This is a Hannah Lynn Designs digital image, you can read about her here.

And this cute image is by A Day For Daisies, you can read about the Copic color numbers and papers, etc. here.

The Stamping Boutique Baby Fairy

I'm really excited to share my card with you today!  I used a digital image called Baby Fairy by The Stamping Boutique.  I had so much fun making this card, coloring it was a pleasure and the layout was totally fun.  The layout is the sketch challenge from Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps.  It's one of those I want to make over and over just to see what it looks like with a different image.

I used De Lovely papers, matted everything in black added three Want2Stamp half pearls and the "sweet baby" stamp is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

We have a new challenge starting today at Stamps R Us!
The theme is "Show Us What You Got!"  - use what ever stamps, digital images, supplies you'd like that maybe you received for Christmas?  It's basically an "anything goes" challenge.  Our fabulous sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.  I hope you'll stop by our Stamps R Us challenge blog to see everything our design team has made and play along in our challenge!

My post today is also part of the Happy New Year Blogaholic Social Networks Blog Hop, which is a link party!  My New Years resolution is to make more cards for Operation Write Home!

The Stamping Boutique Poppies

The Stamping Boutique is celebrating their second birthday soon!  I made a card using their Poppies digital image to help celebrate the occasion.  I tried out a new combination of Copic markers for this image and really like the bold vibrant colors I achieved.  The marker colors are R32, R35, R46, R59, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y15, Y18.

I've been having fun stepping out of my box combining new to me Copic color combinations.  The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Leaf Green, Thepapermill.com Cranberry, Astrobrights Solar Yellow & Neenah Solar White.  My layout is Operation Write Home Sketch #82 and I added a Spellbinders tag stamped with Papertrey Ink "happy birthday" and a button for a finishing touch.

Happy Birthday The Stamping Boutique!

Michelle Perkett Studio Mary Margaret Teacher's Pet

We have a new Midweek Throwdown challenge starting today at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, the theme is "Back To School".  I know, I know, our kids just got out of school but cards for Operation Write Home need to be made up and sent in to our shippers in advance because they have a long way to travel.

I'm sharing some of my "Back To School" cards today to hopefully inspire you to play along.

These cards were made when I was on Michelle Perkett and The Stamping Boutique's design teams.

I really enjoyed creating them and thought it would be fun to have another look at them today.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Looking Back - A Year In Review

I took a little time today and reviewed my blog for 2010.  I started back in January 2010 and scanned through each page rather quickly, wow... the memories...

I thought I'd like to take time today to share some of those memories with you.

I'd almost forgotten my friend Susan and I went to the CHA Consumer show in Anaheim California last January.  We had a great time, I won 1300 yards of ribbon from Offray!

The battle I was having with the contractor to finish my kitchen cabinets came to an end.
When I filed a lawsuit against him and took him to court.
Hired a new contractor to finish the job.
We made it to court in April 2010.  The judge heard our case and told us she'd take 5 or 6 weeks to make a decision.
When we got home from court that day my new contractor wanted to come over and finish installing my table.  He told me I'd never guess who his next job was.  Nope, never in a million years...  The judge who I'd just been in front of most of the day!  I asked how long it would take to complete her kitchen and he said,
"oh, about 5 or 6 weeks"...
You guessed correctly, I won my case.  God is good!
I just love His sense of humor!

The contractor never paid me the amount I was awarded.  I opened a case with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors and we went to a hearing with them next.  The judge strongly suggested to the contractor that he pay me what I'd been awarded in civil court or he'd lose his contractors license and set a due date.  The due date passed, I was never paid the amount awarded me in court.
The contractor lost his license.

Long story short, I've filed all the paper work and am now waiting on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to reimburse me for the amount owed.  Our next "waiting period" is January 11, 2011.  So I'm still patiently waiting and hopeful.

The photos above are my kitchen which also doubles as my "stamp room", the cabinets under the mirror hold my craft supplies.  That's not totally true, I have infringed a little on the kitchen cabinets, you'll find my air compressor and some boxes of stamps and small paper pads with the coffee.

I also wanted to share some cards and other projects.
This was a design team project for In Style Stamps.

It's kind of fun to see how my coloring has improved over the past year.

I was asked to be part of the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog administrative team in May 2010.

I was asked to be a design team coordinator for Michelle Perkett Studio.

I served as a design team member for The Stamping Boutique.

I was asked to be on the Clear Dollar Stamps Digital Design team.

I'm a proud member of the Bug A Boo Stamps design team.

And last but not least another year has flown by with my husband and children.  I feel so blessed to have the privilege of raising 2 more beautiful healthy kids, watching them grow and change becoming the people God meant for them to be.  My husband and I have only been married about a year and a half and again I'm blessed that he found me and wanted to join in our family and raise two more kids in his retirement years taking such good care of us all.

Thank you Lord for being with me every step of the way I couldn't have done it without You and I know You'll be right next to me in the year ahead.

Hey!  Thinking of Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps, there's a new Midweek Throwdown challenge starting today and it's "cards for kids with a missing you theme", go check it out!

Thanksgiving with The Stamping Boutique

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you're having a nice day with your families and have a long weekend to relax and enjoy yourself.

Both of my cards today were really fun to make, this first one uses A.J. The Pilgrim by The Stamping Boutique and is colored with Copic markers.  I was interrupted several times while coloring A.J. so the process took a couple of days and I don't remember all the marker colors but I did try a new combination for his pants and jacket, E70 & E71.  The sketch layout is Mojo Monday 166, the papers are Memory Box Black Bird patterned paper and Stampin' Up! Really Rust with Basic Black and Neenah Solar White.  Spellbinders dies were used to cut out A.J. and the sentiment which I picked up as a freebie at Sentimental Sunday's just the other day and I added three brads to the strip of black card stock to mimic the sketch.

Are you ready for a little desert after A.J. and his turkey?!
This is another image by The Stamping Boutique, it was a freebie last weekend during our Thanksgiving blog hop.  I've enjoyed coloring pumpkins so much this year!  It must be the Copic markers...  Both of my boys love pumpkin pie so this image was just fun for me!

Here are the Copic markers I used:  C00, C1, C3, C6, E41, E42, E43, G21, G24, YR04, YR07, YR09, YR15, YR16, YR18.   The sketch is one I've used before but I couldn't find it in my sketch file to share with you exactly where it's from.

Audrey The Pilgrim by The Stamping Boutique

Welcome to our The Stamping Boutique almost Thanksgiving blog hop!
If you arrived here from Stacie's blog you're on the right track, if not and you'd like to start at the beginning click here.

For my card I used Pilgrim Audrey, she's colored with Copic markers E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, C00, C1, C3, YR00, E00, E000, R02 cut out with Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval nestabilities dies and matted on a piece of brown paper bag (the lunch sack variety) that I put through the paper crimper and attached to a panel of Nut Brown card stock.  I must warn you, I seem to have an obsession about this sketch layout I can't stop making it!  Hopefully I can space out the blog posts with other projects between all the cards I've made with this basic layout.

I also used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on the very top of the white panel and the "Give Thanks" on the bottom is a rubber stamp by Copper Leaf Creations.  Two Dew Drops from the Men's collection on either side of Audrey's scalloped oval finished off my card.

As you've read at the other designers blogs we are playing a secret letter game for a prize, to be eligible to win you have to leave a comment on each blog on the hop and my letter is "K".
There's also a free digital image at The Stamping Boutique here.

I hope you are enjoying our blog hop and have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family!
Your next stop on this tour is our very talented Jenn!

The Stamping Boutique Winter KK

My card today is for the Stamps R Us challenge "Sparkle & Scallops" that started Sunday and goes for the next two weeks.  The Stamping Boutique is the sponsor for this challenge so I wanted to make a card since I'm on their design team and also contribute to the Stamps R Us challenge blog when I can.

I love Tracey's Winter KK image, I'm sad my glittery snowflake doesn't show up in the photo very well, you'll just have to come over and see it in person.  The two purple glittery strips were made with Scor-Tape and sprinkling glitter over it.  KK is colored with Copic markers BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18, R21, R22, R24, E44, E49, E59, E31, E00, E000, YR00, C6, C3, E42, E43.  The scalloped dies I used are made by Spellbinders and My Favorite Things Stamps, papers are Stampin' Up! Cameo Coral, Taken With Teal, Neenah Solar White and Cosmo Cricket Pinkalicious.

The Stamping Boutique Snowman Sign

What a fun card to make!

I used The Stamping Boutique's Snowman Sign digital image and colored it with Copic markers and cut it out with Spellbinders rectangle and scalloped rectangle dies.  The snowflakes are also a die from My Favorite Things Stamps die-namics line.

It's so nice to have a die to cut snowflakes instead of those old dull punches.  This die is a little shallow so I do have to use a shim with it, waxed paper as the first layer being cut also helps eject the snowflakes after they are cut.   The layout for my card is a sketch by Alissa Marotta for the Stamps R Us challenge blog in October.  "Celebrate The Season" is a from a Papertrey Ink stamp set and the card stock colors are, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Neenah Linen Red, Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue, Stampin' Up! Creamy Carmel and I added some nice blue rhinestones to finish it off.

The Stamping Boutique Not So Scary Halloween Vampire

Happy Halloween!
I must say I'm kind of sad Halloween is here...   I need to put all my fun Halloween images away and find a new favorite color other than ORANGE!  I know I'll be okay, there are still lots of fun "fall" images I can still play with!  What are your plans for Halloween?!  Our kids are still trick or treating age so we'll go walk around with them for a little while and then take them over to the Harvest Festival at our church so we can rest and they can play.

For my last Halloween card I used the Not So Scary Vampire by The Stamping Boutique.  Tracey has such a cute Halloween line this year, I've totally enjoyed getting to color and use them on my cards.  This cute little vampire was colored with Copic markers and cut out using Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval dies, the paper was ordered at an online store in the clearance section last summer so I'm not sure of it's name.

Trick or Treat!

Jade by The Stamping Boutique

I'd like to introduce you to Jade today, she's a digital image from The Stamping Boutique, isn't she cute?!
I colored her with my Copic markers and had the perfect plaid paper to mimic her skirt from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper pad.  I used the Eskimo Kisses paper pad for my color inspiration too.  My layout is really simple, with the MFT Stamps open scalloped border die and a strip of pink card stock, I also got into my stash of hoarded goodies and used the extra extra large Olive Green brads, just a couple though!  The oval and scalloped oval are Spellbinders dies.
Check out the blog candy at The Stamping Boutique's blog!  A winner will be drawn on The Stamping Boutque blog November 20, 2010!  This prize is a $250.00 value with 36 Copic Cio markers!

The Stamping Boutique Natalie Christmas Digi Image

I'd like you to meet Natalie today, she's a digital image from The Stamping Boutique!    I have a few new Basic Grey paper pads and thought I'd like to go a little more non traditional for my colors so I chose Eskimo Kisses and broke out some neglected Copic markers.  RV32, RV34, YG91, YG93, YG95, B00, B000 & B0000.  I printed her out a little bigger than maybe I should have but found a nice sketch layout none the less.  I like her... oh, and I've been a bad girl again.  I cut off part of Tracey's image again, here's what this digital image really looks like.
I hope you enjoyed "meeting" Natalie today!

It's Pumpkin Time

I'd like to introduce you to Sammi today, she's a new digital image from The Stamping Boutique!

I have several things to tell you about my card, first is I C.A.S.E.d Patty for my layout.  I think Patty's cards are beautiful, she uses a lot of white paper and I love her clean look.  Patty's blog is LaLatty's Stamp 'N Stuff so you can see her cards too!

My second confession is you aren't seeing all of Tracey's digital image here, I colored it but covered it with the "It's Pumpkin Time" digital image by Whimsie Doodles because it just fit so well.
Here's what she looks like complete.
Isn't she cute?!

The patterned paper I used for my card is by My Minds Eye called Boo To You, Sammi is colored with Copic markers YG11, YG23, YG25, YR15, YR16, YR18, E42, Y32, Y35 and her Red Hair is my friend Marion's Red hair combination that you can find here.  She did a wonderful tutorial on her blog coloring red hair you might like to see.  The dies I used are made by Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder along with paper piercing and a couple of embossed lines on my Scor-Pal just like Patty's!   I've been trying to use my PTI envelope liner die more often to help me use some of that patterned paper I have too.

I have some exciting news from April our event coordinator at The Stamping Boutique today!

Princess Jennifer Latte The Witch

I seem to have a thing for pumpkins and the color orange lately, I can't seem to get enough of coloring pumpkins!  Maybe it's just that time of year...

My card today uses Princess Jennifer Latte The Witch from The Stamping Boutique, she's a digital image that I printed and colored with Copic markers.  My sketch layout is this weeks sketch challenge #37 at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps.  The patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Erie pad. This was a really fun image to color and make a card with!

Don't miss out on my give away in honor of my followers here!

A Crowded Mash - Monster Mash

When I saw these feet Tracey drew I had to giggle!  This digital image is called "A Crowded Mash" and it's one of the new Not So Scary Halloween images at The Stamping Boutique.

I colored them with Copic markers and used a real simple sketch I'd seen on Stamp T.V. along with a Michael's $1 bin Trick Or Treat stamp from last year.

My card is also one of the samples on the Stamps R Us challenge blog this week, their challenge is Halloween cards if you'd like to play along!
One more photo to share with you today!  My friend Dagmar gave me a couple of card trees and this one is filled with a bunch of cards I made this month using The Stamping Boutique images.  It's kind of fun to see all the cards I've been working on all at the same time.  I'm actually kind of amazed by how many there are!

Harvest Blessings

I've been saving this card for a few weeks now, I was going to post it this last Saturday for the Digi Day The Stamping Boutique was doing on Paper Craft Planet but....  I was playing with the Candy Land Winter release images and posted those instead.  So many awesome images so little time!

I just love this scare crow image from The Stamping Boutique, Tracey did a fabulous job with it!  It's a cute scene and fun to color,  I used Copic markers and tried to keep my layout simple to showcase my image.  The "Harvest Blessings" is a computer generated sentiment using one of the cool fonts I've found in my travels around the internet.

I hope you have some time today to enjoy doing the things you love!

The Stamping Boutique Candy Land Release Day!

It's release day at The Stamping Boutique!!  The new Candy Land line is available today!!

We have a lot going on today with The Stamping Boutique, I'll tell you more about that in a moment.

I'd like to tell you about my card first.  This was such a fun card to make, I printed the ginger bread man so it would it inside the Spellbinders die and colored it with Copic markers.  I printed the Candy Land peppermint candies borders after I moved them as close together as I could as a jpg file in my Microsoft Publisher program.  That's another story!  Colored them and cut out one of the extras, applied Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects just for fun and put all the elements together.  The Sizzix large embossed dots remind me of Legos on the green card stock.  It's so nice to be using this I believe "Gamma Green" Astrobrights card stock, I have a ream I need to use up before it's old and brittle.  I even have matching envelopes, I think I should make some more of these for Christmas cards this year!!

And now... for some more fun The Stamping Boutique news!

Day 2 Sneak Peak TSB Candy Land!

I have another Candy Land sneak peak for you today from The Stamping Boutique!
This Candy Land image is called Lane, isn't she pretty?!  Tracey has done a wonderful job with these digital images!  They are so fun to color too!!

"Lane" (I think that's what I'll name her) was colored with Copic markers, she's so pretty I thought keeping my card clean and simple would be the best way to show her off.  I did add Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects to the candies and sprinkled a little Stampin' Up! Dazzling Diamonds on top.

I hope you enjoyed my The Stamping Boutique Candy Land sneak peak!

Candyland Sneak Peaks!!

I have a fun sneak peak for you today from The Stamping Boutique!

I'd like to introduce you to the new Candy Land line at The Stamping Boutique, this digital image is a Candy Land Game Piece.  How cute is that?!  When I saw this gingerbread man I knew I had to have him!!  He's colored with Copic markers as are the peppermint candies, I forgot to mention the peppermint candies are a coordinating border digital image.  I love having extra elements to work with, kind of like a rubber stamp set!  I prefer digital images though, I like being able to re size them and copy and paste them all over a page to make my own designer papers.

I also used a Cuttlebug Candy Cane Stripe embossing folder, Spellbinder's circles dies and an acrylic stamp from the Papertrey Ink Signature Christmas set and black half pearls for his eyes.

The release date for the Candy Land line at The Stamping Boutique is Saturday, September 18th!
I hope you enjoyed my sneak peak!
