Wax Fruit Co. Golf

This digital image on my card is from the Wax Fruit Company and is for our Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps Midweek Throwdown challenge, our theme is masculine.    Golf makes me think of argyle so I had to go in search of Argyle digital papers and really scored at Sassy Designs!  Their paper packs were on sale.

I used Copic markers to color the image T1, C3, C2, C1, C00, E44, E43, E42, E41, YG11, BG0000, BG000, BG01, BG05.  The layout is from a sketch but I didn't use the entire sketch because of the unusual shape of this image.  That's one of the things that drew me to this image, it's different shape.  The aqua cardstock is from Ellen Hutson's online store.

I hope you'll play in our Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps Masculine themed challenge this week!

Wax Fruit Co. Just The Car

We have a new challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps that starts today, our theme is Transportation and I have my card ready ahead of time.

I've had this digital image from Wax Fruit Company for awhile now, it's actually been minimized on a Publisher page on my computer screen ready to print the perfect size for this sketch.  How's that for a reminder that I REALLY want to use this image and sketch?!

I'm so happy with the way my card turned out, I love this image and it is perfect for this sketch by Mary Williams too.  I have a feeling that this is one of those sketches that.... well you know!

I used Copic markers to color the image:  BG11, BG23, BG13, C0, C1, BG0000, BG10, YG11, R27, R46, R59, T3, T5, Y000.  I tried something new I learned from Jennifer at Dove Art Studios with the windows.  I used YG11, BG10 & BG0000 in that order to color the windows so they look transparent.

The papers used are Via Vellum Basic Black, Hero Arts Layering CS Bayou, Neenah Pewter, Copic X Press It.  Three red brads from my hoarded supplies, I haven't used brads in ages!  The DAD is a stamp by CC Rubber Stamps dated 1996.

I hope you have time to play in our Transportation themed challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps this week!

Wax Fruit Company Just The Car

Over the weekend I worked on making masculine birthday cards for our church, I was looking for a clean and simple design that I could easily mass produce times 12.  It looks a little odd to me here because I scanned it instead of bringing out my light box and taking a picture.  I got a little lazy in that respect but scanning cards is kind of scary too, the scanner shows EVERYTHING!

I think another reason it looks odd to me is I'm not used to making clean and simple cards, I don't know when to stop...  I'm actually afraid to handle these cards too much because I don't want any finger prints on them!

The image is called Just The Car from Wax Fruit Company.
It's colored with Copic markers:

Car:  B00, B12, B24
Windows:  YG11, B0000, G0000, Blender
Chrome/Tires:  C00, C1, C3, C5
Tail Lights:  R35, R46, R59
Background:  YR30, YR31
License Plate:  Y00

Wax Fruit Company Pail Bunny

Do you ever need craft therapy?  I know I do!

I've been wanting to color lately, try different color combinations, shading, effects, color what ever I'd like, no pressure, no deadlines...
Today's card is one just for me.  I saw this cute bunny digital image at Wax Fruit Company and tried to use sheer will power not have to make it mine...

The bunny in the pail stole my heart and I had to have it.  I could imagine myself coloring it and wanted to try my hand at making that bucket look real as well as those yummy carrots!

I looked at Splitcoast Stampers sketch #374 Wednesday and it just all came together in my mind so I went to work on it.  The Copic markers I used are YR09, YR07, YR04, C00, C1, C2, T0, E000, YG63, YG23, YG01, BG0000.  Papers are Via Vellum Basic Black, Mohawk Bright White, Copic X Press It & Stampin' Up! Only Orange.  I also used Spellbinders Ovals, Papertrey Ink. double ended banner die and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The sentiment is from Marit at Scrap-a-licious Times.

Thanks for visiting today!
My blog is getting close to reaching 100,000 visitors soon and you're one of them :)

Wax Fruit Company Golfer

I've taken a few mental health days to mass produce more cards for my Operation Write Home box.  Our deadline for Father's Day cards is this Saturday, May 21st and that's been my goal for this box to be shipped.  Thank heaven for Priority Mail if I ship today it will arrive at Sandy's by Saturday!

Don't worry the bow on the box is just to hold it open.

It's almost full!

I found this image at the Wax Fruit Company and though it would make a wonderful Father's Day card and be fun to mass produce.  Golf makes me think of argyle so I had to go in search of Argyle digital papers and really scored at Sassy Designs, 80 cents a paper pack right now!  I know my card says Happy Birthday but the ones for OWH say Happy Father's Day.

I also saw a neat card on Facebook recently by Andrea Walford that I C.A.S.E.d to use up my digital designer paper scraps.
I found these to be slightly addicting...
