Designed 2 Delight Summer Days Bear

Another Designed 2 Delight progressive challenge card today.  This cute bear digital image is called Summer Days and is a freebie if you played in last weeks challenge at Designed 2 Delight.  That's what makes it a progressive challenge, if you play each week you get a new image for the next challenge.

This little bear just seemed to be "thinking of you" so that's the Papertrey Ink sentiment I used from the Take Three Spring set.  I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder that had clocks and gears to represent the time passing spent thinking of you. I know, I know, I think too much :)

The image is colored with Copic markers E79, E77, E74, E71, E70, YG67, YG63, YG61, YG11, BG0000, Y21, Y23, C6, C3, C0, R20.  I added a little texture to the bears fur using my blender pen dotting it on, kinda looks like a skin condition to me...

I used Alcohol and a Q tip on the bottom grassy area, then a Q tip with YG11 dropped onto it and smoothed it on the paper.  I added a few drops at a time of BG0000 ink refill to a Q tip for the sky and left a little white area for clouds.  They have just a little C0 smudged on the under sides.  I was really happy I was able to keep the ink on the inside of the Spellbinders Labels 4 die.

The papers are Via Vellum Sunflower, Neenah Solar White and Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate.  A little Stampin' Up! organdy ribbon and a clean and simple layout.  This cutie is going in my Operation Write Home box.  Have a blessed day!

My card is for the Designed 2 Delight progressive challenge that they have each week, this cute image was in my e mail last Friday morning.  To find out more about the challenge click on the link under challenges at the end of my blog post.

Designed 2 Delight Pail Of Flowers

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you are having a wonderful relaxing peaceful day doing the things you love with the people you love.

I thought I'd take this chance to share one last Mother's Day card.  I used a free digital image from Designed 2 Delight for their progressive challenge.  You can learn more about this fun challenge by clicking their link under challenges at the bottom of today's post.

My image is colored with Copic markers R85, R83, R81, YG61, YG63, YG67, YG11, BV0000, BV000, BV00, E25, Y19, BG0000, C1, C3, C000.  I also used a new Copic technique I learned recently for the grass and sky background.  A couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders and I'm trying to use more of my Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment is a rubber stamp by Hero Arts.

I also have some photos of the progress the guys are making on the block planting beds  in front of our house.

The brick work is coming along nicely.  It's starting to really warm up here too, the temps are starting to climb into the triple digits and the cement dries really fast!  I don't know how the guys work out there, I'm glad I don't have to.

One more thing...  we're having a Clear Dollar Stamps Blog hop Saturday, May 15th starting at 8:00 AM my time I hope you'll join us!

Have a blessed Mother's Day!

Designed 2 Delight Flutterby Fairy

I have a couple of cards to share with you today.  The first is for the Designed 2 Delight challenge at the Delightful Inspiration blog.  If you'd like to check it out I've listed it with a link under "challenges" at the end of my blog post.

This cute image is called Flutterby Fairy, she was in my e mail inbox Friday morning so I could play along in the Delightful Inspiration challenge again this week, how fun!

She's colored with Copic markers E00, E000, E0000, R02, E70, E71, E74, E77, B41, B45, RV91, RV93, RV95, BG0000, G0000.  The layout was inspired by a card that I made for my Dad years ago that I came across the other day, the papers are from the Basic Grey Kioshi pad with Stampin' Up! Perfect Plum cardstock.  She's printed on Neenah Solar White using a HP Laser printer.  The sentiment was purchased from  Create With TLC.

I also used a couple of my old Stampin' Up! punches, added cream colored brads and a little piece of satin ribbon that was a gift from Ellen Hutson with an order I placed recently.  To make her wings shine I used Stickles Ice, let it dry slightly and covered it with Glossy Accents in case I want to use this for my Operation Write Home cards.

Here's my inspiration card.
I've been cleaning, sorting and organizing again and came across this Father's Day card I'd made my dad.  I wish I knew what year I made it, he's been gone three years now so it's at least four years old.  Most of the stamps used for it were by Stampin' Up! I'm glad it was given to me after his death, it's a nice reminder of him and wonderful inspiration for a new card!

Enjoy your day!

Bullfrogs & Butterflies by Designed 2 Delight

I've come across the Delightful Inspiration blog several times now and really enjoy looking at the eye candy and love the images that they're using.  The challenge is different than I've ever participated in too.  My understanding is you buy the first challenge image and participate to get the next weeks challenge image e mailed to you free.  If you keep up and play every week you have a new image to work with every week.  Sounds like fun to me, I hope I can keep up!

For my card today I used the Designed 2 Delight Bullfrogs & Butterflies set, the cute image is colored with Copic markers BV17, BV15, BV11, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, V0000, V12, B12, BG11, BG10, R24, R22, R21, R20, YG17, YG13, YG11, YG05, YG03, YG01, YG0000, G99.

My layout is this weeks Operation Write Home Stars & Stripes sketch #66.  Cardstock colors are Neenah Solar White & Red Linen, Via Violet Linen & Bazzill ??? tan.  I also used a Spellbinders oval and scalloped oval for the sentiment that comes in the set, added a white organdy ribbon bow to bring some more balance to my card.  The embossing folder I used on the red strip is made by Sizzix but I'm not sure what it's called.
