Verve With Gratitude

I have a rubber stamped, heat embossed card to share with you today.

My card was made with a Verve Visual acrylic stamp set, embossing powder, Spellbinders dies a Stampin' Up! Canvas background stamp and a scrap of black and white digital paper and beautiful organdy ribbon.  I love making bows with organdy ribbon!  I really like the way my card turned out except for the dots of black embossing powder in all the places I didn't want it.  Now I remember why I like black pigment ink and clear embossing powder, lol!  That's what I get for using so many digital images anymore, I'm out of practice with my heat embossing technique.

Have a blessed day a & thanks for visiting my blog today -

Verve Stamps Smallest Things

My card is C.A.S.E.d from Bridget at Bridget's Paper Blessings.
I saw her card on the CASology challenge blog awhile back and thought it was just gorgeous.
Then I realized I have the MFT Chevron die that she used so I can try to make one too.
Bridget used white textured card stock and in my minds eye I saw a pop of color.  The sentiment is a stamp from Verve Visual called Smallest Things, the hearts are from another MFT die-namics heart border die.
It's President's Day weekend and Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps is hosting a Virtual Card making party!  There are many different hostesses with the main thread and links to the hostesses challenges on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog here.   A new challenge hostess will be posted every few hours this Saturday and Sunday -
Erika is hosting the first challenge on her blog Scrappin' Intervention and it's to make cards
using zig zags, oh ya, I have zig zags =)

Thanks for all your nice comments I have a few links to the Chevron die for you, I found it here , here, on E Bay and My Favorite Things sells the die too.

I hope you all have a nice long weekend and have some time to do the things you enjoy,
  thanks for visiting my blog!

Verve Stamps Wonderfully Made

I've noticed when I've been out and about visiting blogs that there are a lot of New Year's Resolutions.
Some of them are really inspiring and I'm tempted to try them out but I haven't publicly or privately made any New Year's Resolutions because I don't usually stick with them.

I have been inspired by some of the stamping/crafting bloggers to clean out my stuff and thought I should take it one step at a time.

I have this drawer in my craft room (ah, kitchen) that is starting to be hard to open because there is so much scrap paper, digital papers & die cut embellishments I printed and cut a few years ago hiding in there.

The other day I decided to attempt to get some of that paper out of there and use it to make cards. The New Year's Day blog post on the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog had lots of wonderful inspiration.

One of the OWH technique tutorials for 2011 was Triple Time Stamping which I loved.
I just took it in a slightly different direction using patterned papers and a Verve stamp from their Wonderfully Made clear set.  My drawer is a little lighter now and I have a dozen cards completed, backs stamped and tucked into envelopes for my Operation Write Home box.

My next "un resolution" needs to be addressing a large stack of rubber stamps (mostly Stampin' Up!) under the kitchen table.
I have a new toy that's going to need somewhere to live and as they say,
"out with the old and in with the new?"   I might just have some stamps for sale soon!

Memory Box Spearmint

I have an Anniversary card to share today from the dozen or so I made recently.

My layout is a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers that when I first saw it I wasn't sure what exactly to do with, now that I've used it I LOVE this sketch and use it as an old standby.

I used a couple of  patterned papers from a Memory Box Spearmint pad and a piece of Papertrey Ink Ocean Tides card stock along with Stampin' Up! Barely Banana.  The butterfly is cut from the Cheery Lynn Designs Exotic Butterfly die.  Anniversary Wishes is an acrylic stamp from the Wishful Elegance set by Verve.  Envelope liner die by Papertrey Ink.

Verve Visual Grace

My card today is C.A.S.E.d from Bridget at Bridget's Paper Blessings.
I saw her card on the CASology challenge blog last week and thought it was just gorgeous.
Then I realized I have the MFT Chevron die that she used so I can try to make one too.

Bridget used white textured card stock and the only light colored linen card stock I have is cream so I went with that.  The sentiment is a stamp from Verve Visual called Grace, the hearts are from another MFT die-namics heart border die.

I've been trying to make more clean and simple cards and found the CASology challenge blog very inspirational, hopefully I'll be playing in their challenges soon.

Paper Smooches Circle of Honor

I have a fun card today for our Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps sketch challenge sponsored by Paper Smooches.  This cute Eagle is from the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor clear stamp set.  When we (the OWH blog team) were asked if we'd like to make samples for this sketch I didn't have any Paper Smooches stamps so Paula stamped images from this set and mailed them to me so I could play too.  I have to tell you that I thought this was such a cute set I had to go look at their store and now have a "wish list", and um, I did buy one set called Happy Camper and I'm in love with their stamps now...

I colored this cute Eagle with Copic markers:

Y32, Y35, E40, Y00, Y000, B0000, B01

The layout is this weeks OWH sketch challenge, I also used a new banner die from Verve Visual called Pennant Trim Die, Spellbinders dies and a couple of embossing folders.   My card stock choices are Via Vellum Black, Mohawk Bright White and Astrobrights Galaxy Gold.

I hope you'll play along in our Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps sketch challenge this week!

Lawn Fawn So Thankful

I have one more Lawn Fawn card this week to share with you before we move on to our next Operation Write Home Birthday Celebration sponsor.  I used the So Thankful set several days ago for the OWH sketch #136, I wanted to use it again because Lawn Fawn has a challenge using this nice sketch pictured below.  I love coloring pumpkins and I love sketches, great combination for me!

Here's the sketch:

These are the Copic markers I used:
Pumpkin - Y15, YR02, YE07, E25 - E27, E23
Outline/Background - T0, T1, T2, B21, B34, Y15

For papers I used the Basic Grey Ambrosia paper pad and Copic X Press It.

Verve Visual Triple Time Stamping for OWH

I have one more card ready for the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party!
This card is for challenge #4 coming from Donna Inks blog, the challenge is to use Triple Time Stamping.

Donna shows in nice detail how to do the technique.  I've seen these cards before but hadn't made an attempt to make any yet - what fun I was missing!  It took me longer to figure out what stamps I'd like to use than it did to make the card...

The stamps I used are two rubber stamps made by Inkadinkado that I've had for several years now and a new cling stamp from Verve Visual called Grace.  I don't "stamp" as much as I used to, I was hoping my neglected ink pads still had ink enough to work for me and they did.  I used Palette Jardin Moss & Raw Sienna as well as Momento Rich Cocoa.  My paper is Neenah Solar White & Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  It's business as usual at our house, husband working, kids out of school & Mom and Kids working on laundry.  I'm getting a little "me time" to play in the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party challenges so I'm content.

I think it's time to clean up my mess for awhile now...

I was working on using up the 6 X 6 Basic Grey Kioshi paper pad making these.

As well as the Pink Paislee 365 Degree 6 X 6 paper pad.

All the verses are from Verve with the exception of the last one, it's from an old Stampin' Up! set I still have.

The layout is C.A.S.E.d from my friend Carol and Our Little Inspirations

Operation Write Home MIdweek Throwdown Challenge

We have a new Midweek Throwdown color challenge starting today at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!  We're being challenged to work with Kraft cardstock and any other colors we'd like to put with it.  I love kraft card stock with red, white & Blue so that's what I did for my card today.

I saw this layout at my friend Carol's blog last month and had to try it.  It wasn't easy but I got it and mass produced several of these using different 6 X 6 paper pads I'll show you another time.

The sentiment is made by Verve, I'm not sure if it was in a set or was a single.  I stamped it in Stampin' Up! Night of Navy ink and cut it out with Spellbinders circles.  I also used a Spellbinders circle to cut the half circle.  The stars embossing folder is made by The Paper Studio and came from Hobby Lobby.

Verve Wishful Elegance

I have an Anniversary card to share today from the dozen or so I made recently.

My layout was inspired by a card I saw on Pintrest.  I used black and white scraps from the pile beside my paper trimmer cut out with the Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner die and Spellbinders Hearts & Scalloped Hearts.  The Anniversary Wishes is an acrylic stamp from the Verve Wishful Elegance stamp set.

Cuddly Buddly Lilyboo Cold Days

It's almost mid August and I have a winter themed card to share today!

I saw a card on Pinterest that used a similar layout as this and needed to try it.  I struggle with clean and simple designs and would love to feel more comfortable with them.

I used the Lilyboo Cold Days digital stamp and colored her with Copic markers and cannot find the scrap of paper I wrote down my numbers on!  I do have an idea of what I used though:

Sweatshirt - R83, R85, R89
Hat/Scarf - B21, B23, B60
Pants - W1, W3
Hair - E21, E25, E29
Skin - E00, E01, E11
Outline - G0000, G02

The Winter Wishes sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Verve Visual, I used a snowflake die by Die-namics and the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Paper Pad

Happy Saturday!
You might need your sunglasses to look at a couple of my cards today because they are bright!

I've been playing with a new Chevron die made by My Favorite Things and trying to use up the rest of a 6X6 package of Cosmos Cricket DeLovely designer papers.  I have to admit I bought two sets of the Chevron dies because I thought it would be quicker and easier to cut more at one time.

The sentiment for my first card is called a Plain Jane from Verve Visual.

This cards also uses the Chevron die and a free sentiment from Word Art Wednesday.
I recently discovered the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog and hope I have time to play in their challenges regularly now.  I love the idea of Scripture verses and quotes for cards!

I had to add one more card for my Operation Write Home box, this sentiment is also from Verve Visual.

This design with the Chevron die and patterned paper scraps is a great way to use up patterned papers and mass produce some fun cards for me and for Operation Write Home.

Verve Thankful Accents

I've been in a little bit of a mass production mode here recently, I'm on two less design teams starting this month and enjoying catching up on some of the card making I've been wanting to do but not had the time for.

Our Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge starts today and the theme is "Any Hero" cards.  I made three Any Hero cards using some of my Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink dies and red, white, blue and kraft card stock as well as an acrylic stamp set from Verve called Thankful Accents.

I don't have very many Stampin' Up! ink pads left but I did save the Night of Navy one for times like this.

Now I have to get busy and write Any Hero letters inside my cards!

I hope you'll have time to play in our challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps this week!

Verve Wishful Elegance

I've been working on creating a stash of Anniversary cards the last few days.
It's been fun to get out some of my old patterned paper pads, one clear stamp and a few dies and go into mass production mode.  I don't do that very often anymore!

For both cards I used the Pink Paislee 365 Degree paper pad, Spellbinders Hearts & Scalloped Hearts, Papertrey Ink's Double Ended Banner dies and a stamp from the Verve set Wishful Elegance.  The layout is inspired by a card I saw on Pintrest.
