A Day For Daisies Angels Resting

My card is for our Stamps R Us "Angels" challenge that starts today!  The last challenge of the year for us, our team is taking a very short break to celebrate Christmas with our families so this challenge will last three weeks, ending the evening of Januray 1, 2012.  One lucky card maker will win a fabulous prize package from Tammy at A Day For Daisies!

I used our sponsor A Day For Daisies Angels Resting digital image and colored with Copic markers pictured below:

My sketch layout is Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge #296.  The cranberry colored panel is made using Copic R89, Colorless Blender and an acrylic stamp.  The card stock colors I used are Basic Black, Copic X Press It, Discount Cardstock's Royal Blue & Neenah Kraft.  I added Stickles Ice to the wings and used a couple different Cuttlebug embossing folders.

I hope you'll have some crafting time and will join in our challenge at Stamps R Us!

Art Jouranl Link Party & Gratitude Layout

Hi blog friends!  I was browsing around blog land recently looking at art journals and came across a group that had been assigned Gratitude for that day's art journal layout.  After walking away from the computer "gratitude" just wouldn't leave my mind.  I kept thinking about all the things I'm thankful for and a layout started forming in my mind.

The top things on my list I'm thankful for are God & family so that was my inspiration.  I used digital images from A Day For Daisies, my Microsoft Publisher program, Copic markers and let myself go.  I love the way my Gratitude layout turned out!

I hope you are inspired and will join my Art Journal link party.  Maybe you'd like to do a page or layout about gratitude, if not it's okay to share what ever you'd like in your art journal.

I will have our first featured Art Journal page/layout tomorrow!

A Day For Daisies Strawberry Cake Birthday Fairy

When I saw this cute A Day For Daisies digital image I thought it was so cute and wanted to color that cake!

I used Copic markers YR24, YR21, Y21, Y11, R27, R24, R22, R39, R37, R32, E44, E43, C00, C1, RV00, RV0000, YR00, E00, E000, YG61, YG63, B91, B93, G0000.  The layout is Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge #341 from Wednesday, July 13th.  I framed the image using Spellbinders Squares and added "happy birthday" using Spellbinders Circles.  The pink panel is made with the Red Violet markers and I stamped the Penny Black Circular Design background stamp using Papertrey Ink Perfect Match Pure Poppy hybrid ink.  The red panel is Neenah Red Linen, the white panel embossed with a 5 X 7 Cuttlebug dotted embossing folder and the blue cardstock is by Carnival, I was trying to match Stampin' Up! Bliss Blue some time ago.

It's been awhile since I've participated in any sketch challenges at Splitcoast Stampers, it's a great sketch I'm so glad I did!

A Day For Daisies Bitsy Bug Rosa

I have some fun to share with you today!
I won at Use It Tuesday a couple of weeks ago and when that happens they ask if you'd like to be their guest designer for a future challenge and you know I said yes!

The challenge is to use 2 hoarded items on your creation.
I know my card does not look like I've used anything I've been hoarding so you get to join me for a little tour today.

The first thing I've been hoarding are all the papers but the Via Vellum Black.  If I don't have a full ream (250 sheets) of cardstock I tend to hoard it.

You are looking into one of the drawers under my kitchen table where I store cardstock.

This is a view of under the kitchen table storage for paper and other craft stuff.

I opened the door and drawer so you could have a peek inside.

Here's what the kitchen table looks like from the other end of the room.  There is built in storage for my craft stuff at each end and doors in the center that open for more storage.  In the design I planned for every inch of usable space to be taken advantage of.

The next thing I've used on my card that is hoarded is the ribbon I made the little bow with.

Step out to the garage with me where I keep some of my craft items that won't melt in the extreme summer heat here in Arizona.

These cabinets hold "most" of my ribbon stash.  January of 2010 I won 1300 yards of ribbon when Susan and I went to CHA in Anaheim.

I know it's hot out here, let's go back inside now.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Supply List:
Stamps/Images:  A Day For Daisies - Bitsy Bug Rosa, The Cutting Cafe, What Little Girls Are Made Of
Papers/Cardstock:  Via Vellum Black, Hero Hues Lilac & Aubergine, Neenah Haviland Blue & Solar White, Polka Dotted paper is digital

A Day For Daisies Sleeping Flower July Club Kit Peacock Magic

I have three cards to share with you today using digital images from A Day For Daisies.  They have a challenge going on and the challenge is to make three projects using ADFD digital images.  I actually had two cards made up with A Day For Daisies images that were just kind of "waiting for the right challenge".

My first card uses the image Sleeping Flower, when I saw this and saw that it was a freebie I was so excited.  This image is colored with Copic markers R81, R83, R85, C0, C00, G0000, B0000, B000, B60, B21, B23, Y21, YR21, YR23 YG67, YG63, E00, E000 and I made the background for the Labels 14 with the Red Copic markers and the air brush system as well as Copic blending solution and a Hero Arts background stamp.

My next card uses digital images from A Day For Daisies July Club Kit.  If you haven't seen this kit you really should go check it out, the images are wonderful - you'll see!

I've been practicing my cloud background with Copic markers again and really like the way this one turned out.  The Copic markers I used for this card are B0000, B000, C00, C0, YG63, YG61, G0000, YR00, E00, E000, R20, YR24, YR23, Y21, Y11, BV0000, BV000, BV01, B66.

My third card uses the A Day For Daisies Peacock Magic digital image.  The patterned paper is the same background technique I used on the first card.  I was working on coloring from one color family to another on this card and it worked out pretty well.  Here are the Copic marker colors I used for her dress YR68, YR65, YR61, Y13, Y11 and the other Copic colors are R20, E00, E000, E99, B60, W7, W5, W3.  The sentiment is digital from Scrap a licious Times and the cardstock colors I've used are Via Vellum Black, Neenah Solar White & Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie.

One more thing...
My reason for making the first card today is we have a new Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps!  The theme is "Miss You", I hope you'll play along with us this week too!

A Day For Daisies Small World

We have a new challenge starting today at our Stamps R Us blog and our sponsor is A Day For Daisies.  I've been having fun coloring some of Tammy's digital images, my card above uses her free image called Small World.

The flowers in this image just spoke to me and I had to sit down with my Copic markers...  I used YR24, YR21, YR01, YR68, YR65, YR61, C00, R85, R83, R81, R20, E00, E000, E04, E25, E29, E53, E99, Y11, Y21, YG67, YG63, YG61, YG11, B21, B23 background colors BG0000, YG11.

To mat my finished picture I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch set.  I needed a simple layout so I printed the sentiment from TLC Creations and also used Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue and Rose Red cardstock and the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

This is my card that's posted on the Stamps R Us blog today.

We were at a band concert for my two youngest kids before school let out for the summer and I noticed a woman seated in front of us with her kids.  One of her little girls climbed up in her lap and I was surprised and delighted to see the little girls hair was exactly the same color as her Mom's.  I have a 21 year old son who has copper red hair, when he and my mother would put their heads together they had that exact match too.

I colored this wonderful image with Copic markers G28, G24, G82, G40, G20, BV0000, BV000, BV01, YR24, YR21, Y21, Y00, B23, B21, BG0000, R35, R37, R22, E000, E0000, E00.  My layout is really simple to showcase the image and the sentiment is from Create With TLC, a freebie she offered awhile back on her blog.
