Lilyboo Designs New Easter Bonnet

I have an almost one layer Easter card to share with you today!
In the end I decided to trim it and mat it on a panel of Astrobrights Eclipse Black for a little extra.
I had lots of fun coloring my Lilyboo Designs New Easter Bonnet digital image with Copic markers and Copic refills.  I also used Lilyboo Designs Easter Eggs to help make my scene.  I merged the two digital images in my Publisher program after turning them into png files in Photoshop Elements.  I also used my Publisher program to draw the box around the scene, it comes out so much nicer than when I do it by hand.  No smeared ink either!

Lots of Copic markers!

I used the Copic ink refills to color in the background area.  I use a Q Tip dipped in 91% Isoprophyl Alcohol to wipe on the background area then saturate the other end with the refill color I'll be using and spread it around.  It gives a more even look than coloring a large area with the markers.  Sometimes it's best to repeat the process if it isn't as smooth as you'd like it.  I also go back and outline everything with the same color marker as the refill and blend, blend, blend.

My card looked bare so I added a Spellbinders tag from the Tags Trio set and stamped it with an Easter sentiment from Papertrey Ink and pulled a yellow metallic ribbon through the tiny hole.

Lilyboo Designs Tractor

I've used this cute Lilyboo Designs Tractor before and colored it in green thinking of John Deere tractors, one of my Operation Write Home card making friends suggested it should be red so I thought I'd give it a try.

I used Copic markers R35, R46, R59 for my reds and

W3, W5, W7
N1, N3, N5, N7
C00, C2, C4, C6
BG0000, B01

The patterned paper I used is digital and was in my scraps, the card stock colors are Mohawk Bright White, Astrobrights Eclipse Black, Neenah Red Pepper Linen, and X Press It Blending Card.

I also used Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps sketch #157 for my layout.

Cuddly Buddly Lilyboo Sprinkle Some Love

My card today is for a new release at Cuddly Buddly by Lilyboo Designs, this cute digital image is called "Sprinkle Some Love".

I matched my Copic markers to the ancient (2008) Papertrey Ink 12 X 12 Pinks designer paper to challenge myself using new Copic marker colors.  The layout is Splitcoaststampers sketch #423 that I flipped.  I also used an old Word Window punch and my Corner Chomper.  The love you is part of a sentiment in another stamp set I have.

LIlyboo Mixing Time

I have a Lilyboo Designs card to share with you today, this digital image is called Mixing Time and the happy birthday sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set I have.

My 11 year old son has requested more masculine birthday cards in my stash of cards and I think I need to rise to that challenge.  Masculine cards are a challenge for me so this should be fun!

I colored this cute image with Copic markers:

Mixer:  C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, N3, N5, N7
Concrete:  W1, W3, W5
Bricks:  R59, E59
Bucket:  YR21, YR23, E34
Water:  B12, B14
Shovel:  C00, C1, C3, E42, E43, YR21, YR23, E34
Grass:  YG01, YG13, YG25, YG67
Sky:  B0000, B01

I stared this layout with a sketch but veered off the course and ended up here.  The only difference is the "brick red" panel was shorter and had rounded edges, it just didn't look quite right for this so I re worked it to go all the way across the card front.  It's embossed with a Sizzix Tim Holtz brick pattern embossing folder.  My paper choices are Astrobrights Eclipse Black, Stampin' Up! Bravo Burgundy, Basic Gray & Apricot Appeal along with X Press It blending card.

Lilyboo Designs Safari Jake In The Jungle Scene

I have a fun Lilyboo Designs card to share today!
I used Lilyboo's Safari Jake Sitting Pretty & In The Jungle Scene digital images and merged them to make my scene.  I've been wanting to color more of the Lilyboo scenes but feel a little intimidated by coloring an entire scene.  When I'm finished I always think, "that was fun!" so I just need to keep coloring and enjoying myself!

I used almost the entire card front for the scene because when the images are really small they are harder for me to see and color.  Since there was a nice space between Jake and the tree I wanted to add a sentiment & made my own on the computer to match the font for the birthday sentiment on the inside of my card, sorry I didn't take a picture of the inside. It's not very exciting, just plain with the birthday sentiment, coloring the tree again for the inside might have been fun - next time!  I used the Die-namics Fishtail Flags Stax dies to cut out my sentiment.  The two layers don't really line up the way it looks on my card, I trimmed the edges off of the brown colored card stock to fit my preference.  I wanted to add a little something extra to an otherwise simple card so I wound a piece of jute twine around the sentiment flag.  To curl the ends I wrapped the jute twine around a Q Tip that was on the table from blending my background.

The card stock colors I used are Mohawk Bright White for the card base and sentiment, Copic X Press It Blending Card for the coloring & Astrobrights Jupiter Java as a matting layer.

The Copic markers I used are:

Skin - E00, E01, E11
Hair - E30, E31, E33, Y32
Clothes - YG91, YG93, YG95, E81, E84
Tree Trunk - E30, E31, E34, E37
Leaves - G40, G43, G46, BG90, BG93, BG96, G21,
G24, G28, YG01, YG13, YG25, YG67
Rope - E40, E41, E42, E43, E44
Background/Outline - B0000, B01

Lilyboo Designs Big Heart Tree

Happy Saturday!  I have a fun card to share with you today using Lilyboo Design's Big Heart Tree.
My card is for the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown challenge, the theme is Love/Hugs.

I picked this cute tree image by Lilyboo Designs because I think it just says it all.

E30, E31, E33, E37, E47
R32, R35, R46, R59

Lilyboo Designs Cutest Puppies

I have a fun Lilyboo Designs card to share with you today!

This digital image is called Cutest Puppies and is colored with Copic markers:

Dress - Y06, Y15, Y17
Skin E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair - W1, W3, W5, W7
Pups - E21, E23, E34
Shoes - N1, N3, N5
Background BG0000, BG01
Pebbles - W1, W3, W5, W7, N1, N3, N5

I went through my Copic markers the other day before ordering refills for some of them, while I was seeing if they were low on ink I tried out some new color combinations.  At first I was mixing shades of the same color family, coming up with nice blends but not writing anything down!  Now I have scraps of paper with Copic color combinations I'd like to try, maybe my next project should be putting them in my Copic coloring book?  We'll see if I get that done with all the other fun holiday stuff to create!

The color for the dress is a new Copic color combination for me, I was trying Y06 & Y17 and found I got a nicer blend adding Y15 with it.  The puppies are a new combination I hadn't tried yet too.  E23 & E34 blended well on scrap paper but needed a lighter tone so I chose E21 to highlight a little.

My time and heart have been kind of divided between paper crafting and other crafty adventures lately, new color combinations have rekindled my passion for Copic markers and coloring.

Thanks for visiting my blog today & I hope you have a nice weekend!

My layout is another sketch I found on Pinterest.

The cardstock colors are Via Vellum Black, Stampin' Up! More Mustard, Ruby Red & Garden Green along with Copic X Press It.  I used the Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder for texture and three black half pearls.  The dies I used are a Die-namics postage border, Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner & a Spellbinders rectangle.

Hey, it's Black Friday!  Do you go shopping for all the deals today or do you stay home and recover from Thanksgiving?  I have to say I've never been out Black Friday shopping.  The main reason is I used to always have to work today, now that I stay home with our kids I just never have.

Lilyboo Buzzy Buzzy Bee

I have a fun project to share with you today using Cuddly Buddly's Lilyboo Designs Buzzy Buzzy Bee digital image.  I made a bunch of Beeswax candles recently and wanted to use them for gifts and gift baskets and thought they were a little plain in just the mason jars.

I printed Lilyboo Designs Buzzy Buzzy Bee on Copic X Press It and colored with Copic markers:

E25, E18, E39, E97, YR21, YR24, R81, R83, R85, R21, E000, E00, E01, B0000, B01, N1, N3, N5, YG63.

Cut out my colored image with a Spellbinders Ovals and attached them to a Spellbinders Labels 18, cut a belly band from black card stock and attached everything to my mason jar.  I also added an organdy ribbon that's hard to see in the photo.

Lilyboo Designs Christmas Post

I have a card to share today that uses a Lilyboo Designs new release digital image called Christmas Post.  My plan was to use it for an Operation Write Home card because I used the Operation Write Home sketch challenge #139 for my layout.

My card won't make it to my Operation Write Home shipper before the Christmas deadline because I don't have a full box to send so I added Stickles glitter glue to it for some sparkle and shine.  Now it really has to stay with me,  I don't use glitter or glitter products on my cards for OWH, it's a no no.

This cute digital image was fun to color with Copic markers:

C0, C1, C3, YG01, YG13, YG25, YG67, G0000, G20, G21, G24, R000, R35, R46, R59, Y13, Y15, BG23, B0000, B01

The papers I used are Mohawk Bright White, Neenah Red Pepper Linen, Via Vellum Leaf & X Press It.
The holly leaves are cut using Lil' Inkers dies and the main image panel uses a Spellbinders Labels 4 die.

Lilyboo Designs Let's Sleep For The Winter

Have you seen the new release digital images from Lilyboo Designs at Cuddly Buddly yet?!

My card today uses the new Lilyboo Designs digital stamp called "Let's Sleep For The Winter", boy is she ever cute with her little hedgehogs!

This image was a fun challenge to color for me, I used Copic markers and combined different color families to get the colors of the leaves.  I'll do my best to give you the color combinations below:

Leaf Combinations -
YR24, E37
E15, YR14
                            R17, E07, E19
 BG90, BG93, BG95, G85
E23, E35, E37
Hedgies - E25, E17, E31, E50, E30, RV10
Skin - E00, E01, E11, R21
Hair - W1, W3, W5, W7, W9
Background/Sky - B0000, BG11, BG0000, B01, E51, E53
Top - BG90, BG03, BG95
Pants/Socks - E07, R17, E90, E93

I started out with digital papers from Cuddly Buddly but after coloring the image decided my card would be too busy with patterned papers.  I used a piece of Kraft card stock that was in my scrap drawer that's nice and rich, I wish I had a ream of it!  The red is Neenah Red Pepper, the green is Stampin' Up! Almost Artichoke and I used Copic X Press It.  I gave my plain colors texture by using an embossing folder and my old paper crimper.  I felt like my card needed something more when I finished so I enlarged and re printed the digital image so I could color some of the leaves and cut them out and use them again.

Be sure to stop by Cuddly Buddly and see their new release images for Lilyboo Designs!
