Inspired Stamps His Little Ones: boy soldier

Thank you for voting for my card in the Craft It Forward contest last week, it won!  There's a prize for the monthly winner so my card is in the running for that, how exciting!!!

Today's my day to say farewell to Inspired Stamps and thank you to Antoinette and the rest of the wonderful design team.  I've been stepping back from some of the design teams I'm on to make more free time.  I've been neglecting myself and need to take better care of my health both physically and spiritually.  I'm also going to cut back on blog posting and try to skip a few days a week.  I'm not sure if that's even possible but I'll try!

Thanks for visiting my blog today -

Inspired Stamps Matthew 1:21

I have a design team card for Inspired Stamps today!
I used Matthew 1:21 and cut it out & matted it with Spellbinders circles, then layered it onto a Cheery Lynn Designs Canadian Kaleidoscope doily.  I started out in Christmas colors with the green doily and this stripped paper caught my eye in the mountain of scraps beside my paper trimmer.  I liked it so I used it.  The finishing touch was the three little buttons at the bottom.  They are also from a die made by Cheery Lynn Designs.

I also used a Sizzix heart embossing folder on the top of the white panel to repeat the pattern of the hearts on the doily.

Inspired Stamps David's Shepherd

I have a new release card to share with you today blog friends!  Inspired Stamps has a new release of acrylic stamps for the upcoming holidays.

For my card today I used David's Shepherd and the new Christmas Verse stamp set.  This cute image was colored with Copic markers R59, R46, R43, YR24, YR21, Y21, E37, E15, YR14, G29, G28, G24, G21, E0000, E000, E00, E41, E42, E43, E44.  I kept my layout pretty clean to showcase this cute image.

I printed patterned Christmas paper and used Cheery Lynn Designs French Flair and scalloped French Flair dies to make a shaped card as well as Spellbinders circles dies for the sentiment.

Be sure to stop by Inspired Stamps to see all of the new releases!

Inspired Stamps His Little Ones: boy soldier

Inspired Stamps is sponsoring the Fussy & Fancy challenge again this week!  The challenge is to use three or more of your favorite embellishments.  Living where we do I'm not big on lots of embellishments so I went with three stars that I made myself with a punch.

My card is a Z Fold card and I used the Inspired Stamps "His Little Ones" boy soldier and for the inside "More Perfect Sentiments" acrylic stamp set.

The papers I used are a Camo digital paper pack from Sassy Designs. I paper pieced my boy soldiers uniform and colored him with Copic markers E81, E49, E47, E44, E31, E00, E000, E0000, R20, YG61. I added Sizzix Steampunk Gears with star embellishments on top and a camo envelope liner printed on text weight paper.

My card will go with my next box to Operation Write Home as an Any Hero card after I write a personal note inside.

Inspired Stamps His Little Ones: boy soldier

Hi blog friends, I'm so excited about my card I have to share with you today!

This is an Inspired Stamps design team card, our assignment was to use one "His Little Ones" characters & one Scripture stamp.

I decided I'd like to make a flip card (my name for it), started thinking about it and my card came together in my mind so I had to see if I could figure it out.  I saw this card on my friend Marilyn's blog and was intrigued.

I started by printing the digital camo papers in the sizes I'd need.  The paper pack is from Sassy Designs and is a fairly large set.  (As I put the link in all their paper packs are on sale for $1.00)   I cut all my pieces and die cut the Sizzix Steampunk gears border die and figured out how to get my card to open and close.  Since I have this wonderful camo paper I cheated on coloring my little soldier and paper pieced his cap and uniform.  I colored him with Copic markers E81, E49, E47, E44, E31, E00, E000, E0000, R20, YG61.  I also made an envelope liner using my Papertrey Ink envelope liner die.

Here's where the second part of our assignment come into play, the Scripture verse, for that I used the Birthday set.

I'm really excited about my card, I love the way it turned out!  I'm going to write a note on the back and use it as an Any Hero card for Operation Write Home.  I hope who ever receives it gets as much enjoyment out of it as I have.

Inspired Stamps Lamentations 3:41

I have an Inspired Stamps design team card to share with you today.  I really like this Scripture verse and keep finding different ways to use it.

For today's card I stamped Lamentations 3:41 on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut it out and matted it using Spellbinders circles dies.  I imagined this Scripture verse on one of the lovely doilies by Cheery Lynn Designs that I've acquired and it fit beautifully.  I also used one of their butterflies as an embellishment on my card adding a clear rhinestone as a finishing touch.  The white panel everything sits on was embossed with a Cuttlebug Dots 5 X 7 embossing folder.

I hope you liked my clean and simple card, thanks for visiting my blog today!

Inspired Stamps Let It Snow

Hello blog friends!  I have a Christmas card to share with you today using the "Let It Snow" stamp set from Inspired Stamps.  Inspired Stamps is sponsoring the Fussy & Fancy challenge and I have the privilege of being one of their guest designers for their challenge.

For my card I colored this cute snowman with Copic markers YG17, YG13, YG11, B23, B21, B12, G0000, T5, T3. Since I've been obsessed with circle frames lately I tried a Spellbinders Octagon and embossed my frame with a Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and added the Spellbinders Scalloped Octagon for a little pop of color under it.  Noel is one of the sentiments from the versatile Inspired Stamps Perfect Christmas Sentiments stamp set.  I added a layered snowflake that I made with a Die-namics snowflake die.  It's super dimensional so I thought what the heck, I'm going to add a button to it :)

My cardstock colors are Via Vellum Leaf Green, Neenah Haviland Blue Linen & Solar White, Discount Cardstock's Royal Blue.

Inspired Stamps Birthday

I have another birthday card to share today using the Inspired Stamps Birthday stamp set.  This is a wonderful acrylic set and I've barely scratched the surface of it today and can't wait to use it again!

I stamped the "happy birthday to you" circle with Stampin' Up! Night Of Navy ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die and layered it onto Carnival Navy using a second Spellbinders circle die.  I was inspired by the stars in the sentiment so I made a big star from Neenah Red Linen using Spellbinders dies to put my circle on.  It still needed something so I cut another Spellbinders circle in Kraft and embossed it with Cuttlebug Dots embossing folder and layered it onto a Navy Spellbinders Labels 3.  The white panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder and I added a little patriotic ribbon from my stash.

I also would like to announce the winner of the Inspired Stamps free stamp set of choice winner!  Congratulations Lisa Oliver it's you!  To see her wonderful art work go visit Lisa at Stamping With A Mission -

Inspired Stamps Lamentations 3:41 Praying Girl

I have an Inspired Stamps design team card to share with you today!  Antoinette asked that we showcase a Scripture for our cards this week and I chose to use Lamentations 3:41.

I used Spellbinders circle dies to cut a frame and the scalloped circle to accent my frame.  I thought the Inspired Stamps Girl Praying would be perfect to go with this verse too.  I paper pieced her outfit using Basic Grey Kioshi patterned paper to match the other Kioshi papers I've used.  She's colored with Copic markers W7, W5, W3, B12, R21, YR00, E00, E000.

Antoinette has a big giveaway planned for CHA week...

Inspired Stamps Flowers & More Perfect Sentiments

My card today was a happy accident...  I was working on my first design team card for Inspired Stamps and stamped this cute tulip with stem and separate leaves to try coloring it with blue Copic markers.  What do you know... when it was dry my experiment worked - and that's how you have a "happy accident"!

The Copic markers I used are YG67, YG63, YG61, B69, B66, B63, B60.  I cut it out with a square Spellbinders die and embossed it & went looking for something to dress it up.  I  found just the thing in this Spellbinders Square Eyelet (?) die.  I used my 1/8th" corner chomper tool on the edges of the white panel so they'd match the die it's layered onto.  I really like this new tool!

I made the background paper with distress inks, Bundled Sage, Faded Jeans & Dried Marigold and an old Stampin' Up! Canvas background stamp.  My sentiment is by Inspired Stamps from the "More Perfect Sentiments" stamp set.  I inked it with Faded Jeans distress ink and I'm not real happy with the way it pooled on my clear stamp but that's what can easily happen with die inks.  My background is kind of aged looking so I suppose my sentiment should match with the same look.  The cardstock colors I used are Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue & Garden Green with Neenah Solar White.

Inspired Stamps His Little Ones: boy soldier

I have a patriotic card to share with you today using several stamp sets by Inspired Stamps.

My card for Independence Day is an Any Hero card that will go with my box of cards for Operation Write Home.  I used their Starburst tutorial on the Stars & Stamps blog as my layout and added the cute little boy soldier I'd colored with Copic markers from Inspired Stamps.  The "thank you" is from the Inspired Stamps 1 Inch Circle Sentiments set and the "for your service" is from the Inspired Stamps More Perfect Sentiments clear stamp set.

I also used my Spellbinders Stars dies and my old favorite Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder as well as Kraft cardstock, Neenah Red Linen & Navy Linen and Mohawk Bright White.

I also have a couple of family pictures to share from the weekend.  My oldest son Daryl stopped by to visit Saturday, while he was here he offered to teach his little brother Michael how to ride his mini bike.

A few pointers before getting started.
Big brother tells little brother, "if you can't start it, you can't ride it".  How's that for motivation?!
...and we have another motorcycle enthusiast in the family!

We didn't stay outside very long as it was 115 degrees, too hot to ride more than a few minutes, too hot to sit for long on the block wall and watch, too hot to stand around barefoot without dancing around...  I'm afraid summer has arrived in Arizona.

Inspired Stamps Girl Praying/Lamentations 3:41

I have a sweet card using Inspired Stamps to share with you today.  I used the clear stamp called Praying Girl and the clear stamp called Lamentations 3:41 to make my card.  I stamped the Praying Girl with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers YR24, YR21, Y21, YR000, E00, E000, R20, BG34, BG32, BG11, B23, B21 and a white gel pen.

I didn't have any cardstock to match my Copic markers so I used the BG32 & BG34 on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock.  Spritzed the clear stamp with Copic blender solution and stamped.  It didn't work so well so I inked the stamp with Tuxedo Black and tried again, with a much better result.

My layout is an old favorite, the other cardstock I used is Via Vellum Black.  I added strips of white half pearls to the black strips of cardstock and have a cute finished card that will go into the Operation Write Home box that sits on my desk.

Inspired Stamps Flowers

I received my design team clear stamp sets from Inspired Stamps recently and have my first card ready!

I used the sunflower from the Inspired Stamps flowers stamp set and colored it with Copic markers YG67, YG63, YG61, YR68, YR65, YR61, Y000, Y13, E44, E43, E42 and added dots with a white gel pen.

To frame my cute image I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch set with a light weight Nut Brown cardstock.  The patterned orange panel I made with my Copic wide markers, air brush, Copic blending solution and a background stamp, it's matted with the Nut Brown.  The card base is Nut Brown, the green panel is Medium Pine and my finishing touch was to add a tag from the Spellbinder tags trio die set and stamp my sentiment from the Inspired Stamps 1" Circle Sentiments stamp set.  I added a brown button from my stash and a little crochet thread in a bow.

I've added links above so you can find these products easily at the Inspired Stamps online store.
