Sassy Cheryl's I Love You This Much

I simply could not resist this cute little guy when I saw him at Sassy Cheryl's!  He's called "I Love You This Much", he's perfect for a kids card for Operation Write Home.  Don't you just love how I can justify my purchase?

I printed him pretty big and wanted to try out another cloud technique my friend Marilyn introduced our Stamps R Us design team to.  I used Stormy Sky distress ink for the cloudy sky and Copic markers to color him.  Since it's 4th of July weekend I decided on a Red, White & Blue color scheme.  Here are the Copic marker colors I used:  R27, R24, R22, YG67, YG63, YG61, YG11, B95, B93, B91, YR00, YR24, YR21, Y21, E00, E000, W1, C0.

The Love You Lots sentiment is from a Inkadinkado mini set and I colored in the letters a little with Copic markers.  I also added three tiny hearts, I accidentally cut off one that's part of the image on the left side so I put one there and just over the colored heart on the right side and then of course the one on the sentiment.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend, thanks for visiting my blog today!

Sassy Cheryl's Ladybug Magnet

Happy Saturday, I hope you are enjoying your 4th of July weekend!

I live in a small resort town on the Colorado River in western Arizona so we have lots of people visiting our town from all over.  Our family will spend the long weekend celebrating my husband and my birthday's and wedding anniversary as well as the 4th of July.  We just pretend the fireworks are for us!

I have a fun card to share with you today that I made with a Sassy Cheryl's digital image called Ladybug Magnet.  I thought this little boy was so cute and I love ladybugs so of course I had to have it.

I used my friend Dana's Copic background technique for my grass and clouds and colored with Copic markers R29, R27, R24, R22, R20, E43, E42, E41, E00, E000, YR00, B99, B97, B95, B93, B91, BG0000, YG67, YG63, YG61, YR68, YR65, YR61.  To repeat the dots on the ladybugs I used Papertrey Ink's Polka Dot Basics clear stamp set on the red panel and my sentiment came from Create With TLC and was cut out with a Spellbinders Tags Trio die and matted with a scrap of black cardstock that I used my 1/8" Corner Chomper on - great tool!  I added a button with a little crochet thread tied in a bow as a finishing touch.

Happy 4th of July weekend and thanks for visiting my blog today!

Sassy Cheryl's Ladybug Flower

I have a color challenge card to share with you today!
Our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps is to use the colors purple and green on your card.

I did a lot of experimenting on this card from coloring to Versamark to distressing.  This cute image is from Sassy Cheryl's and it's called Ladybug Flower and is colored with Copic markers BV0000, BV000, BV01, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40, R27, R24, R22, G82, G40 a white gel pen, Copic multiliners Black 0.5, 0.3 & Sepia multiliners 0.5 & 0.3.

I used Spellbinders dies, Ovals, Labels and a tag die.  The green panel is stamped with an old Stampin' Up! background stamp in Memento Tuxedo black and distressed.  The black panel is stamped with Versamark using a Stampin' Up! Friends definition background stamp, also retired I'm sure.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set and I added some purple organdy ribbon to the sentiment tag.  Cardstock colors are Kraft, Via Vellum Black, Via Vellum Leaf Green, Discount Cardstock's Cobalt (?) and Neenah Solar White.

I hope you'll join us for our Midweek Throwdown challenge at Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps and play along!

Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Flag Day With Sassy Cheryl

Happy Flag Day!  My first photo today is of one of the sun flowers and our flag.  I took the picture to show how big the sun flower had gotten, it's taller than the house!  The temperatures here have been over 110 degrees for about a week now so our sun flowers don't look like this anymore, they're cooked.

I made my card before Memorial Day weekend thinking I was going to use it for the Operation Write Home Memorial Day weekend blog hop but realized it would be perfect for Flag Day instead.

She's a digi stamp from Sassy Cheryl's colored with the Copic markers pictured below:
I used my Spellbinders Nesties for the circles and ovals, the stars are a paper punch.  The sentiment is The Pledge of Allegiance printed on my computer and the red panels are run through the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder.

Have a good Flag Day!

Challenges I've entered into:
Kah-Wink-E-Dink - Wave Your Flag!
