Verve Stamps Wonderfully Made

I've noticed when I've been out and about visiting blogs that there are a lot of New Year's Resolutions.
Some of them are really inspiring and I'm tempted to try them out but I haven't publicly or privately made any New Year's Resolutions because I don't usually stick with them.

I have been inspired by some of the stamping/crafting bloggers to clean out my stuff and thought I should take it one step at a time.

I have this drawer in my craft room (ah, kitchen) that is starting to be hard to open because there is so much scrap paper, digital papers & die cut embellishments I printed and cut a few years ago hiding in there.

The other day I decided to attempt to get some of that paper out of there and use it to make cards. The New Year's Day blog post on the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps blog had lots of wonderful inspiration.

One of the OWH technique tutorials for 2011 was Triple Time Stamping which I loved.
I just took it in a slightly different direction using patterned papers and a Verve stamp from their Wonderfully Made clear set.  My drawer is a little lighter now and I have a dozen cards completed, backs stamped and tucked into envelopes for my Operation Write Home box.

My next "un resolution" needs to be addressing a large stack of rubber stamps (mostly Stampin' Up!) under the kitchen table.
I have a new toy that's going to need somewhere to live and as they say,
"out with the old and in with the new?"   I might just have some stamps for sale soon!

Thanks for visiting my blog today -

Jan, I, like you, don't stick to my resolutions. I love the idea of using patterned paper for the triple time effect. I just read a word this morning that I liked and I'm going to use it here. Your idea is "steal-able". I'm not sure which phrase is better, Cased or Steal-able. Either way I'm going to do it. LOL Enjoy your weekend.

Jan, I love this idea to alter the Triple Stamping technique and just use patterned paper - I will definitely have to give this a try as it looks like a FABULOUS way to use up paper that's been sitting around for a looooooong time (decades in my case!). Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm with you on New Year's Resolutions - don't believe in making promises (to myself) that I won't keep! Pitiful, huh?!

Hi Donna!

I think either word works well =)

So many of us have soooooooo much patterned paper it's a shame for it to go to waste when we could be making beautiful cards from it.

Happy card making and have a great weekend too!

Great idea Jan! I have tons of paper I could get rid of this way - lol. And I think I need to order that stamp set, that's my life verse :)

What a great idea for using up all those scraps. I think I'll give it a try.

The middle row on the left - that sure looks like one of the papers from Basic Grey's "Fusion" collection! I have several sheets of that myself. *grin*

I like your idea here and I think I will need to "borrow" it too. :)

I like it! I had to look at it a bit more closely to see that it wasn't the Triple Time Stamping, so that's good, right?

This idea is definitely "steal-able!"
Thanks, as always, for the inspiration! Another great way to make some beautiful cards, use up hoarded papers, and fill our boxes before January 27th! YAY!

PS I don't do the resolution thing either, I like my self too much to disappoint me. LOL

I know Lisa, the New Year's Resolutions - I think I'm afraid of failure or accountability or change, lol. There's enough to keep up with just every day ordinary life.

Enjoy making some new cards with your neglected patterned papers! I need to find a new layout, 12 was all I could mange to get through!

Jan, these are fabulous! I also seen this on the bloghop and thought this may be a way to use some of my mountains of patterned paper. They are beautiful!

Yes Ann, that's exactly where my inspiration came from =)

What a fantastic, fantastic idea! The amounts of scrap paper that could disappear... inspiring! Thanks for thinking outside the box and sharing your thoughts... :)

This is a great variation on the Triple Time Stamping and while I don't have a huge stash I know I have some papers stored away that I've struggle to co-ordinate into cards so I've just ignored using them. This is a perfect solution since it doesn't require coordinating much more than a solid paper and ink. Thanks for sharing these Jan!

Great idea - I think I will steal this one!!! :)

lol Jen, our shippers will have lots of cards using this layout and we'll have so much less hoarded patterned paper - it's a win, win! Glad you like it!

What a great idea Jan. I cannot wait to steal/case your idea. I would be very interested if/when you sell your stamps.

I love your idea Jan and I am sure I will be stealing/casing it in the near future. I would also be interested if you decide to sell some stamps.

What a great idea! I love this because so often I get stuck just trying to come up with a design idea. Thank you!

Very much liking this idea. I have loads of paper that I'm not super fond of and like the idea of using it quickly!

Sherry I'd better get with it then! I will post a message on our OWH Facebook page when I get those stamps out & hopefully very soon =)

FABULOUS idea Jan!!! I have four large boxes full of 12 x 12 papers (not to mention the bins full on the shelf) and this would be great to use some of it up. Thanks so much for the inspiration. blessings ~ Pam

Awesome use of your scraps Jan! I don't have much in the way of DP scraps but this would work great with dry embossed solid paper to, I think. Thanks for the inspiration!

A marvelous idea and great tutorial. I started at my craft desk and 4 hours later I'm still there but I know I'm getting something done. It will probably take a good fool month...thats ok...when I take breaks I get inspired by others like you.
