Petal Prints Shimmer Technique

I tried a new technique that I found at Split Coast Stampers a few months ago. I just made the card again for a friend who has a friend having a birthday.

The technique is called "shimmer" and it's really neat.

I must say before I go any further that this is a CASE. I'm sorry I can't remember who I CASEd to give them credit now, in fact I'm pretty sure this is a CASE of a CASE! If you're not sure what a CASE is, I can clear that up right now - Copy And Share Everything!

The shimmer technique is where you take a travel sized bottle of pump hair spray and add about 1/4 of a teaspoon of Pearl Ex powder to it and shake it up. Spray it on watercolor paper and let it dry, then stamp your image on it.

My favorite Pearl Ex so far to do this with is Micro Pearl. Oh, I also recommend doing the spraying part outside, lol. I demonstrated this technique at one of our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator meetings, there were 5 or 6 of us and we about killed each other with the fumes.

Here's my supply list for this card:
Stamp Sets - Stampin' Up! Petal Prints, Weathered Background stamp, Non SU Happy Birthday
Inks - Stampin' Up! Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive
Paper - Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive, Watercolor paper
Accessories - Stampin' Up Small Slot Punch, Organdy Ribbon (JKM), Eyelets, Sponges
